Tiffany & Co. NEW ATLAS JEWELRY COLLECTION...

Couple of weeks ago I was invited to the private showing of new Tiffany&Co.Atlas collection that was introduced for the first time in 1995.

The collection is named for the mythic Greek god who holds aloft an enormous globe—an apt symbol for a collection that makes an impact around the world.
Created by John Loring, Tiffany design director emeritus, the Atlas® collection explores the raised Roman numerals of its archetype, the Atlas® watch. The latest options continue the evolution of Atlas, with its classical Roman numerals styled in jewelry that is eternally modern.
Tiffany refined these symbols of empire with the streamlined contours of American design. This seamless blend of the new and the legendary captures the essence of Tiffany—chic, sophisticated—the premier jeweler of elegant simplicity.

My favourite set - necklace & matching earrings (photo by Ania Basak)

The clean-cut numerals assert their timeless beauty in the prime asset to own now: an Atlas bangle of spirited versatility. Tiffany circles the numbers in cutouts of 18 karat yellow or white gold, defining style in lean, confident strides. Bordered with sparkling diamonds, this major design statement makes for bold band rings, as well, circled with diamonds or shaped in smooth, polished metal.

Other options that figure prominently include narrow bracelets with fine chains that drape the wrist and a great open medallion in gleaming sterling silver.

The collection is available at Tiffany&Co locations worldwide. And one of the most important thing for you Ladies - very good price range of all the pieces&styles!!

YVES SAINT LAURENT MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS SHOCKING....

Those of you Ladies, who are always open to experiment new "must have" beauty items, will have to try this new Yves Saint Laurent Shocking mascara!!!
I am in love of their original Volume Effet Faux Cils but since the Shocking came on the market - I had to give it a try. Thanks to Loreal Marketing team - I received mine in the mail (always love those kind of surprises:-)

What is so special about this mascara is that it exaggerates lashes with excess volume from every angle (yes-that is truth!!). It is all about the brush - this special amplified helix brush provides volume with every touch with your lashes and its design allows for perfect control and precision!! Moreover, the off-center twist enhances length and curl!
For those of you who are always curious about the ingredients - this new YSL Shocking mascara contains pro-vitamin B5 and the formula is very creamy (which helps to achieve "wet look" of your lashes).

Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking mascara comes in 6 shades (yes-you can change your lashes look every day!!) and available at the YSL beauty counters across Canada for $36 CAD!!

HOLT RENFREW VP FASHION EDITOR - LISA TANT - TALKING FALL2013 TRENDS NEXT THURSDAY!!!

J.CREW FALL2013 COLLECTION...

Always so excited to see what is coming up for the next season in J.Crew fashion house:-)

The Fall2013 collection will begin arriving mid-August at www.j.crew.com and in stores across Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto).

J.Crew is one of my style leaders when it comes to mixing every-day look with runwayworthy pieces!!
This collection looks absolutely amazing and it is inspired by a getaway to Marrakech. “I went there on vacation and wasn’t intending for it to be a starting point for the collection,” said head of women’s design Tom Mora. “But I just couldn’t get it out of my head.” You will find lots of rich color and unique textures.

Mora said that this season men will find the domination of the style of older men in villages who throw blazers over the shoulders of lightweight djellabas. Crombie coats layered over pretty printed silks was his way of combining a tailored silhouette with a softer, feminine approach to dressing - which makes this collection so interesting!

Looking forward to start "browsing"at J.Crew store in Calgary!!
Hope you will have fun as well!!
Happy Shopping!

EXCITING SUMMER WEEKEND....

Hello my Friends! Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!
I must say-after I got back from Europe just past weekend-feels like it was long time ago-such a crazy (in a good way)week-so many beautiful Birthday wishes, surprises (including ladies getaway to Banff & staying at Banff Springs Hotel (http://www.fairmont.com/banff-springs/) - which was a gift I received from my friend-Debra) and...again surprises...

This weekend is all about style...
Just yesterday I had a pleasure to talk on BT TV together with host Jill Belland about fashion style for Polo Sport games - to help Calgarians with their outfit for a great event happening on Sunday at Calgary Polo Club - Veuve Clicquot Calgary Polo Classic (picture on the left - inspiration from Julia Roberts in Pretty Women) and then today - first I was getting ready for an East-Indian wedding and decided to go with cream&gold outfit (picture on the right)..But before that-my wonderful friend who is  one of the most creative person I know (also owner of Designing On The Edge) surprised me with such a beautiful gift - nicely wrapped books about fashion and...style...I think reading is calling :-)
Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, my Friends!!!

CULINARY PEARLS DURING MY EUROPEAN GETAWAY...

Each time I have a chance to travel to Europe - I am trying to discover new places with unique atmosphere and...taste...
For those of you who follow me here - last year I was sharing with you my impression about fashion&lifestyle in London, England.
This year, I spent lots of time with my closest family&friends. During our getaway, there were two places that caught my attention who I really wanted to explore and give you my feedback.

While we were residing in a beautiful small city at the Baltic Sea, called Wladyslawowo, one of my activities- besides running- was biking - with one of the most enjoyable trip through the Hel Peninsulaa 35-km-long sand bar peninsula in northern Poland separating the Bay of Puck from the open Baltic Sea.
After we got to the tip of the Peninsula, small town called Hel-we were recommended to try one of the most authentic restaurant there - Kutter (http://www.kutter.pl/).

One of the first thing that was appealing to me was welcoming outside in the traditional style - lots of wood, fireplace, live music every day, servers in a specially designed outfits and of course-menu with wide selection of different kind of dishes. Although Kutter specialize mostly in fish courses - everyone can find something that will satisfy their stomach:-) From meat, pancakes to grilled dishes and traditional soups.

It was quite difficult choice to make, however after deliberation - for the main course, I decided to try grilled zander with home-made salads. All I can say is "wow" since the very first bite - beautiful presentation and very well balanced combination of spices and herbs.
On the top of that, I cannot forget to mention delicious salmon soup and as appetizer - we shared one of Kutter's specialty - herrings in a sweet, creamy sauce with raisins.

Everyone who is looking for culinary extravaganza and authentic Kashubian flavours - Kutter is the best choice for that, place where tourists not only from Poland but also from outside of country trying to make a reservation in advance to secure their chance for a memorable experience.

I have to admit that I am sushi lover:-) it is part of my lifestyle and sushi is regular in my weekly menu back home, in Canada.
Since the moment I introduced my parents into this type of Japanese cuisine - they became addicted as well.
This year is definitely a year with many celebrations - my parents 30th wedding Anniversary and my 30th Birthday that is coming soon (not sure if I should be happy about that though;-)
Before my departure back to Canada, I wanted to surprise my parents and take them for a sushi dinner to Poznan. However I didn't want to go to a random sushi place - I did my research to find best sushi place in town (also by checking customers reviews & opinions) and decided to have our special surprise dinner at...Kyokai Sushi Bar (http://www.kyokai.pl/)

Located in a beautiful settings of restored red-brick building complex - I was impressed with the outside look since the arrival.
I called the restaurant in advance and lovely manager, Mrs. Ania Jezierska, suggested to make a reservation at the sushi bar instead the regular table settings.
We were welcomed right after we enter Kyokai place and have been given menu with outstanding selection of sushi(maki, hosomaki, futomaki, gunkanmaki, nigiri, kizu, inari and...many more together with wide choice of appetizers as well).

My dad, who usually order sushi by looking at the final result of making it - was grabbing plate after plate from the sushi bar that was just in front of us.

Personally, I love to discover new flavours - so thanks to suggestions from one of the sushi chefs - Marcin Kaczmarek, I started creating my own menu.

My first course was - of course-appetizer and I chose wakame salad accompanied with cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots and cucumbers. The portion was surprisingly big - perfect to share between three of us! Very fresh and tasty!

Chef Marcin Kaczmarek preparing one of the customized sushi

One of my favourite sushi rolls was definitely Maki Sashimi Roll with two pieces of salmon inside - raw and cooked together with avocado, shitake mashroom and gourd- everything wrapped in fish rice paper. Beautiful flavour combination between sweet and spicy!

If you are looking for great culinary experience & you love sushi - I would highly recommend Kyokai Sushi Bar where exceptional food meets tradition mixed with creativity and passion!!
For those of you who are in constant rush - Kyokai also offers catering service!!

My special "Thank you" note to the Kyokai management team for wonderful time we had at your place!!
