ABSTYLE EXPERIENCE at FHNB 2011

Last Saturday, on March 26th 2011 Calgary has its own Fashion, Health & Beauty Show - FHNB Fashion&Accessory Expose - the mix of local lines of apparel and accessories as well as runway shows, fashion theatre and a gallery of work by local artists.

Part of the event was the Wearable Art / Prom Dress competition presented by Metro newspaper. 5 designers have been selected from all entries and their task was to create a dress using Metro papers.

All attendees can also experience the catwalk by local celebrities: Brett Wilson CBC Dragon, Henry Burris - Stampeder Quarterback as well as Calgary Stampeder Alumni: Matt Finlay and Bruce Covernton - all styled by ABStyle, wearing beautiful apparel from Forbidden store.

I would like to say " Thank You" to the celebrities for their patience during the styling and their time invested in this event!

Congratulations to the Edges Salon&Spa who've done amazing job on hair&makeup's showcased during all runway shows. Also, I would like to thank Liz Nandee from Basic Black Designs Inc. for her hard work with interior designing for the event and her support during the styling part!!

ABStyle & CALGARY CELEBRITIES AT FASHION HAS NO BORDERS

ABStyle is proud to be official celebrity stylist for Fashion Has No Borders event happening on March 26th, 2011 in Calgary!! To all Fashionistas - you should be there!!!

FASHIONATA -HOLT RENFREW Calgary

On Wednesday, March 16th, 2011 Calgarians had a chance to experience this glamorous event happening at Holt Renfrew downtown. It wasn't all about the fashion and beauty - one of the biggest goal for Fashionata was to support the Safe Haven Foundation in Calgary.

PARKSHOW 2011 - THE FASHIONABLE EVENT

This year brought another well-done fashion event in Calgary: Parkshow 2011. The idea behind Parkshow is to create a semi-annual fashion, music and art show that will support Parksale- an annual market where local artists and vendors can showcase and sell their work. For those who don't know , PARK stands for "Promoting Artists, Redefining Kulture". It is a network organized by a group of young Calgarians to promote and support emerging artists in the community.

Parkshow Spring 2011 took place in Arrata Opera Centre which was beautifully transformed into a perfect place for a fashion runway. The show opened with a great performance by a talented woman who brought the style of vintage dance alive. This was followed by a fashion show featuring the designs of Chantel Traub, Apiana Que, NRT Designs, Emogene Couture, KARA, as well as Soul Apparel, MaNoKin Design and Alecyn Lea.

Models from Sophia Models looked beautiful thanks to the great work of Hedkandi Salon and makeup artists from Smashbox. After the runway show, everyone still had a chance to extend the experience of this fashionable night by partying with great live DJ sounds. It was definitely a remarkable night!!!!

CHANEL ROUGE COCO-NEW LIPSTICK COLLECTION AT THE BAY!!!

Chanel is determined to introduce lipstick to a generation of girls raised on lip gloss. And the French beauty company plans to do this with a new hydrating and long-lasting lipstick collection called “Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Colour.” It’s a major launch for the brand.

“Women seem to have forgotten how to apply lipstick,” said Peter Philips, Chanel’s global creative director for makeup to WWD recently. “We have a whole generation of lip gloss girls. I want to make lipstick as easy to apply as lip gloss, and for a long-lasting formula to feel comfortable on the lips.” The top-secret formula was designed to condition and soften lips. He told WWD that Rouge Coco will become one of Chanel’s lipstick pillars.

The 30 shades in the extensive collection is broken down into four shade families: neutral-browns, violet-berries, red-corals, and rose-pinks. Each retails for $38 and named after some aspect of Coco Chanel’s life.

The Bay will have a four week preview of the collection before it rolls out to all Chanel counters on March 15th. Can't wait!!!!!

We all remember when fashion world was dominated by models from Brasil, Russia-but now-Polish models made to the top of this list!!

Anja Rubik is on the 3rd place in the world top model's list but we cannot forget about our other beautiful women, like Daria Werbowy, Kasia Struss, Anna Jagodzinska, Monika Jagaciak (JAC) and Malgosia Bela.
